Terms used in health insurance

May 21, 2018

In this blog, we are going to discuss some terms you might see or hear in your health insurance policy. While Farmers Union Insurance agents will always explain your health insurance policy, this blog could be beneficial for any questions you may have.

Premium: the price you pay per month to have health insurance, whether or not you use it

Deductible: the amount you have to pay upfront for your medical care before insurance kicks in

Out of pocket limit: a cap on how much you have to spend for medical care in a year, not including premiums

Hopefully these terms are helpful when reading and understanding your policy. If you have any questions, be sure to ask your FUI agent!
