Emergency planning for you and your family

Jun 11, 2018

While you try to plan for everything you can, there are always things you cant prepare for. In that case, you should be thinking about some emergency planning. Putting together a plan for you and your family is always a good idea, but what should you include in the plan and kit?

A few things weve put into our kit:

  • First aid kit
  • Canned food
  • Flashlights
  • Batteries
  • Matches/Lighter
  • Candle
  • Fire extinguisher
  • Copies of important documents: be sure you have copies of birth certificates, insurance policies, and deeds, while the original copies should be stored in a safe place

Be sure to have a communication plan as well with your family. Once everyone is accounted for, then be sure to contact your insurance agent to make them aware of what is happening so they can get to work helping you get your life back on track!
